- Are you a rising 8th or 9th grader? Are you looking for something new and fun to do? Tryouts for the Spotswood Color Guard are Tuesday, May 3, and Friday, May 6, after school in the Spotswood band room. You can catch the activity bus headed to Spotswood after school (please get a permission form from the office). You must attend both days. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Contact Mrs. Rauschenberg at SHS if you have any questions.
- Hey Montevideo 7th and 8th graders, do you have any interest in acting? Do you want to come to a fun Spotswood event? Then come to Thes Fest May 7 from 9:00 a.m. until noon. To sign up, visit the posters around the school or pick up a flyer outside the library. Deadline to sign up is Wednesday, May 4. Hope to see you there.
- The Teacher Appreciation Committee is doing a drawing every day during Teacher Appreciation Week. The winners will be announced each morning next week! Prizes will be given out in the winners’ mailboxes at the end of the week! Good luck!
- All Montevideo students: Honor Club information will be going out next month to students who remain in the Honor Club through the 3rd nine weeks. Please check the front of your assignment books for the criteria to remain in the Honor Club. The criteria are cumulative and not just for a 9-week grading period. You may have good grades but not met the criteria due to behavior, so make sure you are aware. Also, the behavior criteria will need to be met up until the Honor Club activities, so even if you receive information, you are still held accountable for behavior up until the activities.
- Congratulations to Kyle Fisher for being accepted into the Valley Ridge Governor’s School for their summer program at JMU. Kyle will be studying journalism for a week-long session with faculty from across the country.
